Tianjin saw year-on-year gross domestic product growth of 5.5% during the first quarter of this year, benefiting from the synergic development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province and from policies to boost the intelligent manufacturing sector.
Tianjin's regional GDP in the first quarter was 371.538 billion yuan, calculated at constant prices, an increase of 5.5% year-on-year, 4.5 percentage points faster than the previous year. In terms of industries, the added value of the primary industry was 2.662 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.4%; the added value of the secondary industry was 123.256 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.3%; the added value of the tertiary industry was 245.620 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.0%.
