A dog barking on a plane operating in China caused an emergency landing.
According to local media reports, passenger flight CA8524 belonging to Air China, en route from Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, China the day before to Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, started making noises like dog barking immediately after take off.
The sound, which started immediately after take off, became loud and clear enough to be heard by all the passengers on board when the plane reached an altitude of 8,000 m, and some passengers became worried and agitated. The airline eventually made an emergency landing at Hubei Airport in Wuhan, the halfway point.
Rescuers were dispatched to prepare for an emergency, but no abnormalities were found on the plane. Air China said, “As a result of the plane’s safety inspection, it was confirmed that there were no abnormalities, and it was operating normally to its destination, Wenzhou,” but did not reveal the cause of the noise.
