XPeng's flying car made its first public flight in Beijing yesterday, giving a boost to China's ambitions to develop a low-altitude economy.
The debut flight of the AeroHT Voyager X2 was made in an economic zone close to Beijing's Daxing Airport located on the border of Beijing and Langfang, Hebei Province.
It is also the first flight of manned low-altitude vehicles, including flying cars, in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, as per XPeng.
It plans to establish commuter flight routes between Daxing Airport and Xiongan New Area, and between the Beijing Capital International Airport and Tianjin, Langfang and other areas, to explore the new mode of combining intercity commuting and ferrying with the use of flying cars.
