Turkey will provide natural stone with a value of $1 billion to the Eco-City Project in the Chinese province of Tianjin.

Aegean Mining Exporters Union President Arslan Erdinç said on Tuesday that they have signed an agreement with the Chinese officials to supply natural stone to the Eco-City Project in China where ecological products and modern city planning techniques are being used. According to the agreement, the first order of 2 million square meters natural stone will be sent next March.
The Eco-City Project, estimated to cost $20 billion, is being constructed in a joint venture between the Chinese and Singaporean states.
Interior architects Jiffy Qu, Yao Zheng of the Singaporean construction company Keppel and Cengiz Tığ, an entrepreneur from İzmir, Turkey, also visited the Aegean Mining Exporters Union. Tığ mentioned that Keppel, the constructor of the famous Burj Al Arab Project in Dubai, is now working on the Chinese Eco-City Project, where three stages out of five have already been completed. He noted that more 1 million people will live in the Eco-City Project and that it will have more than 300,000 homes, a stadium with capacity for 50,000 supporters and 10 five-star hotels.
Tığ said the Eco-City construction started in 2009 and is expected to be completed within nine years.
