New Projects to Add More Than 125 Beds to UFH Network

Chindex International, Inc. ("Chindex") (Nasdaq: CHDX), an American health care company providing health care services in China through the operations of United Family Healthcare (UFH), a network of private primary care hospitals and affiliated ambulatory clinics, today announced that UFH has initiated two new development projects designed to add more than 125 beds to the hospital network. Tianjin United Family Hospital and United Family Rehabilitation Center in Beijing are the latest new development projects initiated by UFH. When added to the existing expansion projects, including the soon to be completed expansion of the United Family flagship hospital in Beijing and the Guangzhou Hospital in development, the UFH network would more than quadruple its patient capacity over the next three years.

Roberta Lipson, Chindex Chief Executive Officer and United Family Healthcare Chair, said, "We are very proud to announce these two new development projects, which accelerate our plans to bring our premium level of care and the latest service models to the growing number of people throughout China seeking better health care options. With the expanded Beijing United Family Hospital this year, the new United Family Rehabilitation Center, new inpatient hospitals in Tianjin and Guangzhou, and a new dental clinic and expanded in-patient offerings in Shanghai, we are primed to meet the needs of those seeking the very best in private health care in China."

The 25 bed, 75,000 square foot Tianjin United Family Hospital, scheduled to open this Summer, will provide a range of services for patients, including primary care medicine, obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics and surgery, as well as infertility support for hopeful parents in that city. The United Family Rehabilitation Center in Beijing, scheduled to see patients in mid 2012, is a new 100+ bed, 162,000 square foot facility adjacent to a large park in east Beijing and would fill an existing void in China's health care system for those seeking quality premium care when recovering from surgeries or debilitating illnesses in the neurological, cardiac and orthopedic areas.
