ZHENGZHOU - Nearly 200 taxi drivers went on strike in Zhengzhou, the capital city of Central China's Henan province, on Monday morning to air their complaints about the unfair recall of their operator's licenses by a local taxi company.

Cabbies blocked the gate of the Henan Bureau for Letters and Calls in protest of the recall.

The striking drivers said the company's unilateral decision to recall the operator's licenses would endanger the livelihoods of drivers who have spent a great deal of money to purchase their cars from the company.

Some drivers also voiced their complaints about the company's attempts to block the drivers' visits to local authorities.

Officials from the Henan Bureau for Letters and Calls and the Zhengzhou police bureau are currently discussing the situation with the drivers.
