altFinnish telecommunication equipment manufacturer Nokia Corp's employee-reduction in China now expanded to research and development posts, no longer restrained to sales staff members.

Nokia (China) Investment Co Ltd said employees at the research center are among the laid off employees, reported Beijing Times on Thursday.

Apart from sales and R&D departments, information and several other departments have also been affected.

The job-cut details are not disclosed at this moment, the report said according to a Nokia China official.

According to Xinhua News Agency, in June, Nokia announced it plans to cut 3,700 jobs in Finland and up to 10,000 positions worldwide by the end of 2013 to reduce costs.
