Tianjin defended their championship crown in the National Games' Women's Volleyball final by defeating Liaoning in four sets on Monday. The Liaoning team wore white and didn't impress anyone with their passing and defense, but the side delivered a powerful attacking game thanks to veteran national players like Wang Yimei and Chu Jinlin.
Unfortunately, they didn't show their national team playmaking skills in this match. Wang Yimei's heavy spikes lost their punch against Tianjin. Mistakes and inconsistent play from Liaoning gave Tianjin more opportunities, and Tianjin took the first set 25-12, and the second set 25-19.
Liaoning fought back in the third set, finding its form with a 25-22 win, but it was too late. Tianjin clinched the match in a hard fought final set which ended 26-24, and successfully defended their title.
